High Holy Days

We look forward to welcoming you and your guests to our High Holy Days’ worship. Temple Jeremiah offers early and later services for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur. We also have different worship opportunities geared to individuals or families.

Temple Jeremiah celebrates with traditions old and new for Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim, Passover and Shavuot. Temple has a unique way of making the holidays meaningful and fun for all ages. Learn about our special celebrations for the holidays below!

To celebrate the joyous holiday of Sukkot, we enjoy building and decorating the Sukkah. Then we share pizza together in the Sukkah and other meals throughout the week. Join us for Pizza-in-the-Hut, Erev Sukkot Worship or Java-in-the-Hut along with festival worship.

Simchat Torah services engage the whole family! We celebrate beginning the Torah anew with a delicious dinner, seeing the entire Torah unrolled and being together for a very special service! Join us the next morning for “T” is for Torah scones and Yizkor.

Please join us in celebrating Chanukah! We sing Chanukah songs, light candles, eat latkes, share a special service and have fun! Temple also hosts a Chanukah Celebration for Families and Friends with Special Needs.

Temple Jeremiah Purim celebrations are not to be missed events! On Purim we host an Adult/Teen Only Purim Schpiel, where we tell the story of Purim through song starring Temple Jeremiah’s very own talented members! The morning begins with the Carnival for those with special needs, then we enjoy the telling of the Purim story and a sing-a-long, and after, the carnival begins!

Passover at Temple Jeremiah is a special time to gather together. Join us as we kick off the observance with our annual First Day Matzah Brei Breakfast, worship and Torah study. We conclude the holiday with our From Desert to Dessert breakfast, worship and Yizkor. Sisterhood celebrates with a festive women’s Passover Seder.

Shavuot commemorates receiving the Torah. At Temple Jeremiah we join with neighboring congregations for the annual Community-Wide Tikkun Leil Shavuot celebration. We continue the observance of the holiday with a Temple Jeremiah tradition of enjoying apple pancakes, worship and study.
