Temple Jeremiah has a remarkable number of adults and kids who get involved in our programs. Our lay leadership is entirely volunteer based.
See our many opportunities to get involved below.

Your participation at Temple makes a difference. Just attending services or one of our events is a great way to meet new people, deepen spiritual connections, strengthen our community, learn something new, or just have fun! Choose an event to attend from our calendar.

Get involved with our social action programs like Backpack Blessings, Family Promise, Feed the Hungry, or other fulfilling social action programs.

Assist in the office with a variety of tasks to help the Temple staff. Contact us at 847.441.5760 to volunteer in our office.

Be an usher for Friday night or Saturday morning services. Help welcome guests to Temple Jeremiah. Ushers will pass out prayer books and the Sabbath Light, assist with seating, coordinate with the ushers provided by Bar/Bat Mitzvah families, etc. For more information or to volunteer, contact Vicki Weisenberg at weisenberg3916@comcast.net or 847.480.1541.

Are you outgoing and good at meeting new people? We need your help making Temple Jeremiah even more welcoming. Volunteer to be on the welcoming committee and help greet new, prospective, and longtime members at worship and events. If you are interested, please contact Co-Sisterhood President Alisa Patterson at 847.867.7772 or sarap@aol.com.

Our committees need volunteers to help plan programs, coordinate volunteers or just participate! For example, you can help our Caring Community Committee by volunteering to cook a meal, drive, help with a shiva, or lend other support to members in need. Join Sisterhood or Brotherhood to make new friends and make a difference! Or, get involved with our social action programs like Backpack Blessings, Family Promise, Feed the Hungry, or other fulfilling social action programs managed by our Social Justice Committee. Please read about all of our committees – we have a committee for every interest!
