In addition to the opportunities geared to families, we have programs just for the Temple Jeremiah kids and teens. From our Youth Groups to our religious school aides to teen service trips, young people can get engaged, deepen their connection to Judaism and Jewish causes, gain leadership skills and have fun.

Our Temple youth groups are divided by age:

JeTY, Jeremiah Temple Youth, is for 9th-12th graders
Jr. JeTY, Junior Jeremiah Temple Youth, is for 6th-8th graders
Club 345, is for 3rd-5th graders
Jeremiah Kids, is for K-2nd graders
Jeremiah Buddies, is for 2-4 year-olds

To get involved, contact Shira Brandhandler at shira@templejeremiah.org or 847.441.5760 ext. 112.

Looking for a comfy place to lounge before or after class or whenever you happen to be in the Temple? Our Youth Lounge is the perfect place! Find a spot on the couch, play a game, grab a snack. Find out about upcoming programs. Stop by and hang out!

3rd-7th graders can have a snack and hang out in the Youth Lounge before Hebrew school. Each week, a healthy snack and water is provided for free. Students also can purchase treats like chips or cookies. As always, foosball, board games and other activities ensure a fun time is had by all! Contact Shira Brandhandler at shira@templejeremiah.org or 847.441.5760 ext. 112.

Post B’nai Mitzvah age youth can volunteer as aides at Religious and Hebrew School. Contact the school office at anne.kaplan@templejeremiah.org for more information.

Every few years, Temple Jeremiah youth take a trip to a place in need of our help. This unique program includes a Social Justice project and hands-on social action, allowing participants to develop leadership skills, Jewish learning and connections with other young people. For more information, contact Shira Brandhandler at shira@templejeremiah.org or 847.441.5760 ext. 112.

College students can stay in touch without having to do anything! Parents can contact Anne Kaplan at anne.kaplan@templejeremiah.org for more information or fill out a College Connection form, so Temple can send your student gifts and packages on religious holidays and other times during the year. There is a fee to help defray the cost of shipping. Also, we are always looking for college students willing to be a resource for a Temple Jeremiah high school junior or senior who is interested in their college or major.

Join our teen or childrens’ choirs for the love of singing! No experience required. We even have a band!
