It’s easy to get involved at Temple Jeremiah. We always have interesting educational, spiritual, social or social justice programs happening. Just take a look at our calendar to see the variety of activities! Our community thrives on learning, giving of themselves and spending time getting to know one another.

Whether you have a few hours to give back, want to meet new friends or want to chair a committee, we have a group or program to suit you. And, we have opportunities for all ages and abilities! Adults can attend Brotherhood or Sisterhood events, usher at services, join a committee or choose from many other options. Kids can be a part of our youth group, choir, volunteer for our Feed the Hungry program or other Social Justice programs. There’s truly something for everyone at Temple Jeremiah.

Ways to get involved

Temple Jeremiah has a remarkable number of adults and kids who get involved in our programs. Our lay leadership is entirely volunteer-based. Read about our many opportunities to get involved and choose what works for you and your schedule.

Social Justice Programs

To make a difference in support of our chosen platforms, we have created a number of highly engaging social justice programs. There are many interesting, educational, spiritual and rewarding opportunities for Temple Jeremiah families to support our Social Justice programs.

Social Advocacy Platforms

Temple Jeremiah members make a meaningful difference in the lives of many in our surrounding community, in Chicago and beyond. Our social justice leadership and impact have led to becoming a sought-after resource by other temples, churches and organizations on how to be successful in social justice programming and social advocacy. Our Social Justice advocacy focuses on six platforms, but we remain open to new issues that need attention!

Youth Programs

In addition to the opportunities geared to families, we have programs just for our Temple Jeremiah kids and teens. From our Youth Groups to our religious school aides to teen service trips, young people can get engaged, deepen connection to Judaism and Jewish causes, gain leadership skills and have fun.

At Temple Jeremiah, we have a committee for every interest and skill set! Participate as a committee member or attend committee events.
