Beloved Friends,

Today we will enter the third Shabbat of Elul. The High Holy Days are fast approaching, and we are planning for beautiful, meaningful, and enriching worship experiences. Worship will be offered in person in the Schreibman Sanctuary as well as in a large tent in our south parking lot. Each of these will also be offered digitally via YouTube.

As I shared last week, this year we are focusing on the High Holy Day prayer/poem Unetaneh Tokef. Rabbi Michael Gold wrote: “Prayer is not something we do to God, but something we do to ourselves. Prayer connects us to the spiritual dimension of life. And through that spiritual connection, we can change ourselves. In other words, prayer is a way to change us. And when we change for the better, it is as if God answered, Yes!”
