COVID-19 Menu Notes
Thank you for helping with Feed the Hungry! Families should prepare their 20 bag lunches in their own homes rather than the temple kitchen using the below special protocol. First, everyone putting together the bag lunches should wear gloves during assembly. Second, families should bring their assembled lunch bags to the front of the temple for drop-off by 10:00 a.m. (new earlier time). Third, please place two lunches each in ten plastic (not paper) supermarket shopping bags.
Lunches will now consist of pre-packaged food with suggested ingredients listed below. When the lunches are dropped off at the Greater Bethlehem Healing Temple, 12 South Oakley in Chicago (google map with directions here.) Their staff will transfer the lunches from your car to their serving tables in the back of the church. When you get to the church, stay in your cars in order to eliminate close contact with church staff or the hungry people waiting for their lunches. We will not be handing out the lunches.
Those who are traveling to Greater Bethlehem Healing Temple should meet in the temple parking lot at 10:00 a.m. sharp.
Below are two suggested menus for preparing the 20 bag lunches using ingredients readily available from Wal-Mart or another low-cost grocer.
