With only a few days left in the current lame duck legislative session, the State Senate is set to vote on SB 1966, a bill that will amend the FOID card system.

If enacted, this bill would require a point-of-sale background check for all unlicensed gun sales and require action by law enforcement to remove guns from a prohibited person once their FOID card is revoked.

This is a time-sensitive issue, and the vote could come any time this week. We invite you to contact your state legislators one time before our current session ends to let them know how you would like them to vote on this bill.
