Thanks to the almost 40 people who volunteered, the work of the TJ Postcard Collective was a resounding success! We exceeded our goal of sending 1,000 postcards, reaching a total of over 1,500 postcards sent!
Postcards were sent to unregistered, eligible voters of color in Florida with messaging that urged them to complete the 2020 Census and to register to vote. Feedback from volunteers was very positive and indicated that the process was user friendly and all instructions were easy to understand!
Since this first effort was so successful, we will be sending out a second round of postcards this August! As the election approaches, messaging will likely focus on getting out the vote. We are also gauging interest in working with RAC-IL on a phone banking campaign to combat voter suppression in Wisconsin.
