Anna Shabelman – President
My name is Anna Shabelman and I am currently a Junior at Glenbrook South High School. I have served on the JeTY Board as President for the past two years and have been involved in Feed the Hungry, Backpack Blessings, and Family Promise at Temple Jeremiah. I participate in Onward House, a program to help tutor inner-city kids, and as a mentor at Special Gifts Theatre, a theatre program for kids and teens with special needs. I have a strong passion for social action, especially within the special needs community. I would love the opportunity to serve as President for a third year to help make JeTY even bigger and better.

I volunteer every chance that I get and love to stay active with a busy schedule. I have volunteered as a Teen Chaperone at numerous Jr. JeTY and Club 345 events and have been an active member in JeTY this year. I am part of multiple volunteer clubs at Stevenson and I am always trying to give back to the community.

I love to hang out with friends, shop, and go to Lake of the Woods over the summer. I love being involved within the Jewish community and helping others. I am super creative, friendly, and put 100% into everything I do. I really think that I have what it takes to be on the JeTY board, and am willing to put in all of the time and commitment necessary.

My name is Sloan Greenfield, I’m currently in 8th Grade at Maple School, and I will be attending Glenbrook South High School next year. I enjoy singing, acting, playing the guitar, hanging out with my friends, and volunteering. Jeremiah has been such a big part of my life for the past eight years. Jeremiah has let me meet some of my closest friends today, and it has helped me find my Jewish identity. I am very excited to be a member of JeTY next year!
Brie Katz – Religious and Cultural Vice President
My name is Brie and I am a Sophomore at Glenbrook North High School. I love working in groups and enjoy leadership opportunities. I participate in dance and cheer outside of my academics. I am a teacher aid (Madricha) at Temple Jeremiah and at the preschool inside of GBN.

I’m Julia Belian. I’m a Junior at New Trier High School and have been a member of Temple Jeremiah my whole life. I am a Madricha, a volunteer for Family Promise, and will be a teen leader for the Temple Jeremiah’s first service trip to Costa Rica. I’m a very outgoing person that loves to be with and help people. I also love to spend time with my friends and family.
Maddie Murokh – Marketing and Communications Vice President
Hi! My name is Maddie Murokh and I am currently a Freshman at Glenbrook South High School. I have been a part of Temple Jeremiah since I was eight years old. One of the first events I participated in through Temple Jeremiah was OSRUI summer camp. From the first “try it” session with Dr. Lidsky, to my latest adventure in Chalutzim this summer! Being a part of the Temple Jeremiah has nurtured my growth from a little girl just starting her Religious School classes until now, a Freshman, in High School. Each activity or event, whether big or small, has challenged me. Although I may not have recognized I was being challenged at the time, my maturity and Jewish identity have been made stronger because of it.
Sloane Shabelman – Freshmen Representative
My name is Sloane Shabelman and I’m currently an 8th Grader at Maple School in Northbrook. I live in Glenview with my parents, older sister, and my dog Boomer, and next year I’ll be attending Glenbrook South. In my free time I love to act and be in/see musicals, play softball, and spend time with my family and friends. I can’t wait to be a part of JeTY for the first time this year and I look forward to hopefully being on the board!
Leo Van Every – General Board Member
My name is Leo Van Every and I am a Junior at Deerfield High School. I am an Honor Roll student, and a member of the Deerfield High School Honor Society. I have participated in several extra-curricular activities including baseball, basketball, and golf. I am an older brother to Ian and Ava. In my spare time, I enjoy giving back to the community through various volunteer events, hanging out with friends, and watching Chicago’s sports teams.
