On
behalf of the Board of Directors and entire Temple Jeremiah
community, we are pleased to welcome Michael Garlin as our
new Executive Director.
Michael comes to us with a varied
not-for-profit management experience from the Jewish Council
for Youth Services, the
Jewish Community Centers of Chicago and the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree from
Arizona State University and a Master of Science in Human
Services from Nova University in Florida. Most importantly,
Michael
brings to us great passion and commitment to the Jewish community
in general and Temple Jeremiah in particular.
Michael, his
wife, Mindy, and their children, Bradley and Marisa, live
in Buffalo Grove.
Our congregation owes a great debt of gratitude
to our Search Committee (Mark Achler, Joel Africk, David
Blum,
Julie Ford,
Lori Goldstein, Diana Kaufmann, Ross Wolfson and chaired
by Susan Brody) who spent countless hours working to
find the
most qualified Executive Director candidate to support
an exciting future for our community. As you begin to
know Michael,
you
will appreciate the wonderful success of their efforts.
Michael
officially began his work with our Congregation on July
1, 2009. We hope that you all take the time to
welcome and get to know him.
- Rabbi Paul F. Cohen, D.Min. and David Golder, President
